Initiatives include Free Music Friday’s, Patriotic Flags on the Lamp posts, and residents & employee parking permits.
Board of Selectman Representative to the POCD Affordable Housing Task Force: Participated in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund proposal that was adopted as an ordinance by the RTM. Lauren currently is an advisory member to the Greenwich Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board. Lauren is passionate about being on this board, as she was raised by a single mother, qualifying for “reduced lunch” prices while attending Greenwich Public Schools. Lauren also is an advocate for local control of housing development.
As Liaison to the Commission on Aging, Lauren spearheaded a number of initiatives including, co-chairing the Town’s “Hello Neighbor” phone bank campaign used as a way to connect and communicate with seniors in the Greenwich community. During this campaign, over 100 volunteers phoned 3,000+ households, in the early days of the pandemic. Lauren continues to advocate for the needs of seniors ensuring needed improvements to the Senior Center and our designation as an age and dementia-friendly community.
As Liaison to the Selectmen’s Nominations Advisory Committee, Lauren reorganized and streamlined the elaborate Board of Selectmen candidate interview process. The revitalized process allowed for the prompt interviewing of 120 candidates for various Boards, Commissions, and Committees.
As CEO Rep. to the Western Connecticut Council of Governments (WestCOG) Lauren regularly shared insights and learned best practices amongst 18 municipalities especially in response to the pandemic and opposition to bills in Hartford that would eliminate local control.
The Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD), is developed every 10 years and acts as a guide for the town’s priorities and projects. In an effort to keep the plan on track and in line with the state of CT and Greenwich, Lauren lead the efforts to integrate new KPI’s on the POCD- including guiding principles, and execution of a study completed every 2 years to determine progress on the plan.
Lauren is also the BOS representative for the Central Middle School Building Committee, Greenwich High School Security Vestibule Building Committee and the Glenville Beautification Committee.
